Henning Mankell visits this years edition of the Berlinale Talent Campus. Mankell, as well as other international writers, filmmakers and acitivists, will discuss the importance of engagement by artists in today’s world. The theme of this year is Framespotting: Filmmakers positioning themselves. The panel will kick off a six-day programme in which this theme will recur daily and differently.
The Berlinale Talent Campus, arranged since 2002, is a school for up and coming filmmakers from around the world. The Talent Campus aims to inspire, give expertise and also to give the filmmakers an unique opporutnity to learn from acclaimed professionals.
The Berlinale Talent Campus is being held at the same time and place as the Berlin International Film Festival, one of the world’s leading film festivals. Mankell was a member of the International Jury at the Berlinale in 2009. Actress Tilda Swinton was another member of the jury that year.
