The thirteen new Swedish Wallander films, starring Krister Henriksson, have been acquired by BBC4. The series has also been sold to France (M6 Group), Canada (Télé Québec), Russia (Teleseriya TV), Belgium (Lumière), Poland (Canal +), Bosnia and Serbia (Kip). BBC4 has previously shown the first thirteen Swedish Wallander films, which was the first time BBC aired a Swedish crime series.
- We're delighted that BBC has already decided to acquire the films, as some of them are still in postproduction. We will be announcing further sales to major territories in the coming months, says Mikael Wallén, MD at Yellow Bird.
In Sweden, the first nine films have been released on DVD. The remaining four will be released during the spring. The series is produced by Yellow Bird in cooperation with TV4 and SF in Sweden and ARD/Degeto in Germany.
